Chinese aircraft carrier returns to home port


QINGDAO, September 22 (ChinaMil) -- China’s first aircraft carrier “Liaoning” returned yesterday morning to a naval port in Qingdao in east China’s Shandong province after successfully completing its scheduled tests at sea.
  During the tests, the ship-borne J-15 fighters made 100-odd sorties in all, conducting the tests of such subjects as taking-off with maximum payload along the long and short runways on the aircraft carrier, arresting-cable-controlled landing with maximum payload, and multi-weapon configuration takeoff and landing.
  Furthermore, multiple fighters successfully completed take-off and landing on the aircraft carrier at short intervals. Through the tests, the commanding process of on-ship flight for ship-borne aircraft has been optimized and flight deck operation process has been fully verified.
  The sea trail conducted by the aircraft carrier “Liaoning” in September exceeded the previous ones both in duration and distance since its maiden voyage on October 12, 2012.

“Bengbu” warship conducts first maritime training

The “Bengbu” warship, first homemade new-type frigate of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA), conducted its first maritime training from April 8 to 12, 2013 after its commission. During the training, the officers and men on the “Bengbu” warship carried out training on such subjects as maritime live-ammunition shooting, 48-hour continuous drill, maritime lifesaving and ship operation which greatly enhanced the organization and command capability of the commanders and coordination capability of the crew. Chinese navy conducts live-ammunition fire drill

Warships of the South Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a live-ammunition fire drill in a certain sea area under the conditions of informationization in mid April.This drill highlighted the combat marshalling integration training, and the command post marshalling training, and further enhanced the navy's defense capabilities and combat effectiveness based on the information system.

PLA naval taskforce cruises in waters near Diaoyu Island

The high-sea training taskforce under the South China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) cruised in the waters near the Diaoyu Island on the morning of April 17, 2013. Zhao Xiaogang, commander of the taskforce and deputy commander of a destroyer flotilla under the South China Sea Fleet, expressed that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands are China's inherent territory since ancient times and the cruise conducted by the Chinese Navy in the waters near the Diaoyu Island is absolutely rightful, legal and irreproachable.
