Chinese navy conducts live-ammunition fire drill

Warships of the South Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) conducted a live-ammunition fire drill in a certain sea area under the conditions of informationization in mid April.This drill highlighted the combat marshalling integration training, and the command post marshalling training, and further enhanced the navy's defense capabilities and combat effectiveness based on the information system.

PLA naval taskforce cruises in waters near Diaoyu Island

The high-sea training taskforce under the South China Sea Fleet of the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) cruised in the waters near the Diaoyu Island on the morning of April 17, 2013. Zhao Xiaogang, commander of the taskforce and deputy commander of a destroyer flotilla under the South China Sea Fleet, expressed that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands are China's inherent territory since ancient times and the cruise conducted by the Chinese Navy in the waters near the Diaoyu Island is absolutely rightful, legal and irreproachable. Chinese fleet visits Portugal

Chinese supply ship Qinghaihu arrives in Lisbon, April 15, 2013. The 13th escort taskforce of the Chinese navy reached Portugal with two missile frigates Huangshan and Hengyang and a supply shipQinghaihu for a five-day goodwill visit on Monday. During the visit, the warship open day will be held for the public with a basketball match between Chinese and Portuguese naval officers. The taskforce will also visit an elders' house in the vicinity of Lisbon.
