Chinese naval escort taskforce starts first visit to Morocco

Ships of South China Sea Fleet joint mobile ship formation return to home port

The joint mobile ship formation of the South China Sea Fleet under the Navy of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) officially returned to its home port at 09:00 on April 3, 2013. During the 16-day-long voyage, the joint mobile ship formation successively completed drills on 30-odd subjects such as defensive combat in naval mooring area, three-dimensional landing of the marine element, combined-arms assault on “enemy’s” maritime mobile ship formation by various types of aircraft, maritime anti-terrorism and maritime search and rescue. The joint mobile ship formation sailed through the waters of the Xisha Islands, the Nansha Islands, the Zengmu Reef, the Bashi Channel and Western Pacific Ocean with a total navigation range of nearly 5,000 nautical miles. Chinese marines conduct shooting training with new sniper rifles

The 14th escort taskforce under the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) organized its marines to conduct a precision shooting training with the new type sniper rifles on March 24, 2013.

On the Harbin guided missile destroyer, the armed marines shot the target 200 meters away. The Special Forces detachments is an assault force of the navy when carrying out the escort mission. Since setting sail, they strengthened the real-combat training, including precision shooting and expel of pirates. The trainings effectively tempered their precision strike ability.
